It has nothing to do with the perms of the 90s. We explain which hair it works best on, how long it lasts and how to style it afterwards.
When someone says “permanent wave”, most people picture the tight little curls from family photos thirty years ago. A bio perm is a different technology and a different result: a soft wave, volume at the roots and hair that falls into place by itself after washing.
Which hair it works best on
- Straight, heavy hair that falls flat — it gains a spring that no dryer can make permanent.
- Fine hair that lacks volume at the roots.
- Slightly wavy hair, where the point is to organise the existing wave rather than create one from nothing.
When we advise against it
Right after heavy lightening, with very damaged ends or while the hair is still being rebuilt — then reconstruction first and a perm later. That is an assessment we make during the consultation, by touching the hair; nobody can tell you that honestly from a photo.
How long it takes and how long it lasts
In the salon it is usually a few hours, and the effect lasts from three to six months — depending on the hair structure and how fast it grows. The price starts at 300 zł and depends on length and thickness; we give you the exact amount before we start, not after.
How to style it afterwards
Ideally not at all — wash it, apply a wave cream or mousse and dry it with a diffuser or let it dry on its own. A bio perm wins exactly on those mornings when there is no time for styling.
Would you like to talk it through in person?
The consultation is free. Mon–Fri 9:00–19:00, Sat 9:00–16:00.
