Salon colour lasts as long as your home care lets it. No miracle products — five habits you can really see after a month.
After every colour service we tell you what we worked with and why — and that is not a sales pitch, it is the manual for your hair for the coming weeks. Below are five things that in practice decide whether the colour still looks like it did in the salon a month later.
1. The first 48 hours
Let the colour close. Do not wash your hair for two days after colouring, skip the swimming pool and long hot baths. It is the simplest thing on the list and the one most often ignored.
2. A shampoo chosen for the colour, not for the scent
Colour protecting lines — here mainly milk_shake and Kevin Murphy — have a different pH and different surfactants than a regular drugstore shampoo. The difference shows after the third or fourth wash, when the shade starts to go dull or turn yellow.
3. Water cooler than you like
Hot water opens the cuticle and washes out pigment. You do not have to torture yourself with a cold shower — it is enough to rinse your hair with lukewarm water at the end.
4. Heat protection every single time
- A dryer and a flat iron without heat protection are the fastest way to dry, damaged ends.
- A flat iron at 230°C does not straighten better — it straightens once, and then it all has to be rebuilt.
- On blondes heat protection is obligatory, not optional.
5. A treatment now and then, not just a mask
A mask hydrates, a reconstruction rebuilds — these are not the same thing. With regular colouring, an intensive reconstruction (Simply Zen) every few visits does more than piling conditioner on your hair every day. During a haircut we can assess whether it is that moment.
We choose home care for your hair structure and scalp, not for the current promotion.
